Current Role

As ��è��Ƶ’s General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer, David leads the in-house legal team and coordinates all team members and services under a single department.

Serving as an advisor to ��è��Ƶ’s board, owners, and associates, David will strengthen the firm’s growing legal team and client relationships, and consistently help ��è��Ƶ clients develop business models while minimizing risk.

Experience

David comes to ��è��Ƶ following a successful career spanning over 28 years in private practice. He handled legal matters ranging from sophisticated mergers and acquisitions, to successfully defending his client’s property rights in a case he argued in front of the Michigan Court of Appeals. David also spent over eight years as a partner with Warner Norcross + Judd focusing on corporate and transactional work, as well as estate and succession planning advice. Before joining Warner, David was the Managing Partner of a Saginaw-based law firm where he practiced for 20 years.

Prior to joining ��è��Ƶ in 2024, David served as ��è��Ƶ’s primary outside legal counsel.

A Closer Look

• An active member in his community, David served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years and serves as a Trustee for the Bay Area Community Foundation.
• David has also served on boards of several nonprofits, including past president of the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council and on Studio 23/The Arts Center and on the Stevens Center for Family Business Executive Council at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan.
